Hexagonal water is characterized by the fact that its H₂O molecules combine in hexagonal ring structures. It is crystalline-like and therefore stable. Dr. Gerald Pollack also calls hexagonal water the 4th phase of water. It is the living, energy-rich structure of natural, very healthy glacial water.

99% of all molecules in the human body are water molecules. And water is involved in 98% of all metabolic processes in our body. Therefore, optimal quality of drinking water and all bodily fluids is an absolute prerequisite for health and vitality.

When Prof. Dr. When Mu Shik Jhon describes hexagonal water as the key to health, he is likely referring to its many positive effects: it detoxifies and cleanses, is highly antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, and increases the viscosity and flow rate of the blood, thereby improving oxygen transport to the cells and consequently energy production. This is particularly relevant in relation to performance enhancement, burnout, exhaustion, concentration, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, increased fat burning, improved metabolism, and much more.

Ordinary drinking water consists of larger water molecule clusters than hexagonal water. Due to the dipolarity of ordinary water, 20–25 water molecules, for example, bond together to form a macrocluster (clump). This is too large to pass through the small aquaporins (cell openings) into the cells. The result is dehydration (a lack of fluid in the body). In contrast, hexagonal water is structured in a small enough way and easily breaks down to enter all cells. Therefore, it is optimally cell-permeable and readily available, and is the most important transport medium in the body for nutrients, oxygen, metabolic waste, and other toxins.

Comparable to stacked honeycombs, hexagonal water forms millions of layers in the body. No atom or molecule can dissolve in these hexagonal layers. Any foreign substances are pushed to the side, towards the surrounding bulk water. They can then be easily transported away and excreted. Hexagonal water is therefore also called EZ water ("Exclusion Zone"). It promotes detoxification and cleansing and has a strong detoxifying and anti-inflammatory effect. This is particularly important for connective tissue. Many deposits, such as acidic molecules, toxins, etc., are temporarily stored there like in a landfill and can lead to inflammation, cell mutations, cysts, and fibroids. These foreign substances can be broken down and removed much more easily with hexagonal water.
Since the hexagonal layers in a hydrophilic (water-soluble) environment are always negatively charged and the surrounding bulk water is always positively charged, the basic structure of a battery is present. This "natural battery" only requires an initial triggering impulse, such as sunlight or specific vibrations, to generate its own electrical energy. In further so-called master reactions, billions of tiny amounts of energy are generated after a prior water splitting process. Under "hexagonal conditions," these release more energy than the preceding water splitting, which requires only atomic water and oxygen.

Jhon assumes that healthy cells are always surrounded by hexagonal water. In contrast, cancer or diabetes cells, for example, are surrounded by water with a disrupted structure. His conclusion:

"An individual is healthier the greater the amount of structured water in their body."

"Active hydrogen" is a naturally occurring antioxidant. According to Flanagan, it is the most powerful antioxidant in the universe. Furthermore, "active hydrogen" is so small that there are no barriers to it in the body. Oxidation, which is harmful to humans, is caused by free radicals—molecules that are missing an electron. They are highly aggressive and attempt to steal an electron from other molecules or atoms, triggering a cascade of detrimental processes in the body. Many inflammations and pains are based on these acid-forming processes. Oxidation is also the primary cause of the aging process and damage to DNA, including mitochondrial DNA, as well as many imbalances and malfunctions.

According to Flanagan, "active hydrogen" consists of a hydrogen atom plus an additional electron. It arises in hexagonal water firstly because fewer hydrogen atoms are needed due to the ring structure, and secondly because the atoms in the ring structure can share electrons. The unneeded hydrogen atoms and free electrons (delocalized electrons/resonance effect; Prof. Dr. Schwabl) accumulate as plasma below and above the hexagonal layers. This is also referred to as neutron and electron plasma.The free electrons from the active hydrogen neutralize trillions of free radicals. Hexagonal water therefore has an extremely high oxidation-reduction value of -400 to -900 millivolts. In contrast, ordinary water (tap/bottled) is usually even positively charged with zero reduction capacity.

In addition, there is an ingenious peculiarity of nature. Normal antioxidants such as vitamins A, C, E, etc., become free radicals themselves when they neutralize a free radical by donating electrons, and the negative cascade continues indefinitely. This is precisely what does not happen with active hydrogen. It is the only antioxidant that does not itself become a free radical when it neutralizes free radicals. Therefore, "active hydrogen" is indeed not only the strongest, but also the most effective and best antioxidant currently known in the universe.

Dr. Patrick Flanagan describes in detail in his research on Hunza water (structured, energized glacial drinking water in Pakistan) that hexagonal water also has a strong antioxidant effect due to "active hydrogen." His "Active Hydrogen" products, "Megahydrate," and "Crystal Energy" are also remarkable in this respect. According to the manufacturer, one "Active Hydrogen" pill is said to have the antioxidant power of 10,000 glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice.

According to Dr. Ulrich Warnke, an interaction also occurs between the hydrogen atom with its additional free electrons and the high-energy quantum vacuum, and especially dark energy, resulting in the additional generation of energy for the benefit of the body.

Enzymes and hormones in the body are surrounded by three layers of water and approximately 15,000 to 70,000 water molecules. Proteins can only maintain their protein folding (their three-dimensional geometry is crucial for their function; however, this can be adversely affected by vibrations generated in acidic environments, particularly by H3O+), and their function can only be optimal, if the middle layer (Y-layer) consists predominantly of hexagonal water (62% has been measured). If a cell becomes acidic, the Y-layer loses its hexagonal structure, and the hormones and enzymes lose their function.

Incidentally, the hexagonal structure could also explain why polyphenols, the healthiest secondary plant compounds, have strong antioxidant effects. We also find these effects in the four amino acids that make up DNA. In both cases, hexagonal carbon-based structures exist via the benzene rings. Fullerenes (also found in elite shungite) are characterized by strong detoxifying and antioxidant properties; here too, we are dealing with hexagonal structures.
